Bair

Pronouns: He/They

Years Played At CC: 2014-2019

Where are you now? Los Angeles

Favorite memory from playing at CC: Going to fuck-nowhere Indiana (Illinois? I don’t remember I think this is early 2017), having half the team be able to go. Freshman roll up and absolutely stomp on top Air Force talent who now play for top tier club teams. Win tournament, drink local milk, fly to Puerto Rico, throw Oren Fox into a gross pond. It was THE definition of Wasabi Ultimate, the weather was shit, conditions were grueling, but we relished in the opportunity and had the best time doing so as a family.

Something for the history books: Puerto Rico trip of 2017, Lil’ Bo Peep makes 9 cups in a row in pong. 2015 we changed our pregame chant to be much less misogynistic.

Bergen Hoff

Favorite memory from playing at CC: Nationals in Milwaukee; the nights spent around the fire at Leo’s home felt just right, because we were a big ole family.

Something for the history books: The worm chant was invented by Daon, leading member of the chant committee, in the ‘21-‘22 season

Chloë Rowse

Pronouns: She/Her

Years Played At CC: 2013-2016

Where are you now? Portland, ME – owner of Portland Rising (PUL team)

Favorite memory from playing at CC: Centex – sunny, snowy, muddy.

Something for the history books: We once advanced at Centex based on a coin toss. It was so windy that every single game in the pool was 2-3 or 3-2 (or some score like that) and it literally was a perfect tie and it came down to a coin toss, which we won 🙂

Where are you now? Washington, DC

Favorite memory from playing at CC: Too many amazing memories to pick just one 💜 One of the tip-top was bookend D1 College Nationals—my freshman year when it was both programs’ first trip to Natties and my senior year to cap off an incredible college ultimate experience!!

Matt Zelin

Pronouns: He/Him

Years Played At CC: 2012-2015

Where are you now? Oakland, CA

Favorite memory from playing at CC: I have so many amazing on-field memories of big wins/highlights, but it’s the off-field moments that really stick with you. The long drives, the team dinners, the late nights and early mornings, those are the moments that solidified friendships and it’s the people I met on Wasabi that made the on-field work worth the effort.
Submit a photo of yourself either from when you played, now or both

Something for the history books:

  • Harlem Shake in 2013
  • game-to-go 2014
  • beating Minnesota and Harvard back to back 2015 (those teams would play in the finals the following year)

Nicky Spiva

Pronouns: He/Him

Years Played At CC: 2008-2011

Where are you now? Atlanta, GA

Favorite memory from playing at CC: Centex spring block break senior year – both men’s and women’s teams went to Austin for a couple of days of SXSW, won Centex, then some of us road tripped to New Orleans, crashed with the Sinnots rents en route in Houston, then had a whirlwind of a time in the big easy. Jeff woke up in a truck bed, the rest of us crashed in the dungeon of a random dorm of a guy Lauren Sinnot went to Kindergarten went, I lost my wallet, and it was a hell of a time. Then we went back and cheered on the women’s team on and crashed at the nicest house I’ve ever stayed at on Lake Austin, next door to Dennis Quaid or something. All in all an epic adventure.

Something for the history books: Both teams made D1 natties in 2011 for the first time which was awesome.

We won Centex in 2011 as well. Probably the Chili fest tournaments as well. We drove all over – Trouble in Vegas, New Years Fest (Tempe), Kansas Fools Fest?

Sam Pfeifer

Pronouns: He/Him

Years Played At CC: 5

Where are you now? Denver

Favorite memory from playing at CC: My favorite memory playing at CC was my Senior year, at the the end of the Covid year, when we hosted a bunch of teams to come scrimmage Wasabi. We got to play on Washburn in front of like 100 CC students for my first time. It was Rowdy, and we destroyed DU. Also, when we qualified for Nationals in Tulsa my last year, I felt like I had truly left the jersey in a better place than I had received it.
